Xperia X10 Mini Pro Unboxing Video and Price-Launch Date in July First Week

After the Sucessful launch of Xperia X10 Mini, Sony Ericsson is preparing the release of Xperia X10 Mini Pro all over the world. :)
The User eXperience Platform is praised all over and the UI is said to really zippy on Xperia X10 mini. Now, it’s twin brother with QWERTY keyboard is ready for the Launch. And just before the Launch, Sony Ericsson Russia made a quick Unboxing video to show what you should expect out of the Box. :) Xperia X10 Mini Pro is expected to hit shelves by first week of July.
Enjoy the Video! ( Although, it’s in Russian! :P )

Expected Release/Launch Date : First Week of July

Price : 399USD ( 18,495INR )
It’s the official price of Xperia X10 Mini Pro in India( New Delhi ) and you should expect it around 17,000INR at it’s launch. :)

To Remind you of Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini PRO has
- 600Mhz Processor
- Four Corner UI
- 2.55Inch Capacitive Touch Screen
- 5Mp AutoFocus Camera
- Stereo FM
- 128MB Internal and upto 16Gb external Memory ( 2Gb included in the box )
- 3.5mm Audio Jack
- Wi-fi
- 3G
- Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP
- Android 1.6, Donut with UXP

I guess the last feature in this list would not make everyone rejoice with happiness. It’s a question of big debate if Sony Ericsson is making a big mistake launching a device with Android 1.6 in early Q3 when Android 2.2, Froyo is already out a month ago. :?:

Well, Sony Ericsson already promised through their Product Launch Blog that, Xperia X10 series ( Xperia X10, Xperia X10 Mini, Xperia X10 Mini Pro ) will receive Android 2.1 update in Late Q3 this year. :)

one thing i really dont understand is how come x10 mini x8 n mini pro UI is very fast and not x10 which contains 1ghz ?

    • Saad Khan says:

Lol! how can you say that have you ever used X10?

    • It’s because of many things including the Screen size. There are many technicalities that is quite hard to understand unless you belong to a developer background. And you won’t feel that when you upgrade your Xperia X10 to R2BA020 Firmware. :) Speed has significantly improved in this update. :)

      • Saad Khan says:

Hi Manish i have been asking you for quite some time that has R2BA020 firmware officially released please answer me.

      • No, not yet! You’ll know it once it is released-i’ll post it here! You don’t need to ask it every second hour!

  • Saad Khan says:

Ok thanks and sorry as i am a bit impatient

Ok thanks and sorry as i am a bit short of patience.

Hi, Can someone please tell me that will the xperia phones already bought and working on 1.6 be upgradable to 2.1 or 2.2 versions of Anroid.

    Thanks… :)

    • Yes, Sony Ericsson already confirmed about the update to android 2.1 in Late Q3. And your X10 with android 1.6 is eligible for the update when it comes out. :)

      • Peter says:

Hi Manish, Few retailers claims that X10 mini / X10 mini pro may not support Android 2.2 upgrade. How far is this true?
Secondly, I’ve read few other comments over the Internet which states that X10 mini pro doesn’t support all applications as all other Android phones. Is this true? if yes, what kind of application might fail to work in this ‘Mini but Mighty’ gadget?

      • All those claims are irrelevant and Mini and PRO not supporting the Android 2.2 is simply baseless! Hardware wise even first Gen Android phones can support Android 2.2. Android 2.2, doesn’t have any special Hardware requirement. And it depends on the Manufacturer to provide the Update or not!
I don’t know about a single app that does work on other Android phone and doesn’t work on Mini and PRO. ( if there is any, you can name it! ) Except for the Multitouch apps, which would still run but won’t provide you the same experience!
Mini and PRO are currently on Android 1.6, which might be causing the confusion as Android 1. doesn’t support a few apps that exclusively made for android 2.x and above! :!:

  • Peter says:

Thanks a lot for the clear inputs Manish. I really appreciate!!! I’m going to buy X10 mini pro shortly (it costs around Rs.16,200 in Chennai), will write my experience once I get to use it.

    hello Manish .

First of all u got a great website :)

and can u please post some apps for the x10 mini pro .. Cheers

  • LibertyCFC says:

Hi. Is there a way to remove some of the apps that are already on the phone? Some of them are pointless and want to free up space to add apps that i will use.

    Thanks

    • Some apps can’t be reomved that came pre-installed on your phone. It is by the Choice of Manufacturer. You can always remove them, if you root your phone. ( but i won’t recommend rooting your Xperia X10 for just that purpose! )
