Xperia X10 with Yellow Tint Issues like iPhone4 – Sent to Sony Ericsson Service Center

I’ve been enjoying my Xperia X10 since i bought it. It has few minor issues with Timescape and Mediascape and some with In-call Volume but almost all of them seems to be ironed out in the Latest R2BA020 Firmware update for Xperia X10. I didn’t had any major hardware issues with my Xperia X10 ( if i don’t consider the Volume issues as a real issue and that too a hardware issue ) until recently. I noticed not too long ago that there are a few Yellow Tint on the screen of my Xperia X10. Yes, similar to that of iPhone 4!
It is pretty hard to notice but it’s there at the Top and Bottom of my Screen. A Circular patch at the top of the screen below the In-call speaker and whole bottom line with wavy patches. Look into the figure. ( Edited the pic to just demonstrate the issues, and sorry if you find my editing, pathetic! )

I guess I read it about this before somewhere in the forums as well. And I strongly believe this is a Manufacturing Issue and most of the Xperia X10′s are having it. You can check it for yourself on your Xperia X10 by scrolling a document( Either in the Office suite or any webpage that has some empty white space ) that has a white background in a completely Dark room ( keeping the Brightness at low levels as well ). You’ll notice the Yellow Tint at the bottom ( if you have a faulty Display on your Xperia X10 ).
The tint at the top of the screen is quite hard to notice as you won’t get the Blue Notification bar to move out of the way. ( or otherwise you can notice it in the landscape mode! )
You can also see the same patches when you restart your phone and just when the Sony Ericsson Appears on the screen look at the top and bottom at an angle and you would notice the patches on the screen. ( Do this in a Completely Dark Room! )

I’m a bit disappointed with the fact that it might be a Manufacturing Issue and i might get my Xperia X10 back as it was when i submitted it! And to add to this Sony Ericsson Service Center are not a treat to deal with. The guy at Sony Ericsson Service Center, Nehru Place ( New Delhi ) tells me that ” It’s not a display problem. You can see it’s the lights coming from bottom of the screen that is making it look that way! ” Gosh! :/
It took me some time to convince him that it’s a display problem and he finally submitted my phone and gave me a link to track my service. And he also told me that tomorrow is Sunday and your phone will be forwarded to our engineers in Faridabad only on Monday! I hate Delays! Lets see what happens! Fingers crossed!

So, by this time I’ve discovered two unique problems on my Xperia X10 that is not much talked about yet,

Hardware Issues with my Xperia X10
- Yellow Tint on top and bottom of the Screen similar to the iPhone4 issue : As, i told before scroll a document with white background in a completely dark room to notice this on your Xperia X10!

- Cracking Noise during a Call : I’ve talked about it earlier as well. There is a cracking sound during a call and can be noticed when you make call from a pin drop silent background and ask your called friend to notice any cracking sound!

The second problem on my Xperia X10 seems to be a software problem but you never know! You can also report the bugs you encounter on your Xperia X10 as well. And We have a Rumor as well, that the much awaited R2BA020 is finally landing in India tomorrow on SEUS. Lets hope this time it turns out to be true. I don’t have my Xperia X10 with me so, do let me know if you find the Upgrade tomorrow!
