  I need some help, I can NOT send pictures through SMS on an X10a Unbranded phone, but if I use a X10a Rogers unlocked it works, I’m on AT&T, both phones have the same APNs and all the settings I can check, any suggestions?

      Message Can NOT be send, it takes several hours for it to give me that message, when I send a picture, I just see the little envelope with the red clock but it doesnt send it, but if I use the X10a from rogers (unlocked) it does work perfectly, I already deleted the APN I even asked my carrier to send it to me OTA and still nothing but it works on the X10a from rogers both have the same settings or I think they do, at least the same APNs

      This is really strange! Can’t seem to find the solution still i would like you to suggest using some other Messaging app like Handcent or anything else and see if it’s App related. Or else do a Factory Reset / Repair through SEUS.

      see I dont get it, bc my sim card works perfectly with the Rogers X10a but when I put it on the unbranded X10a I just can’t send pictures, I did the factory reset twice, and did the SEUS update/repair thrice, I just did it last night and I still have the same issue.

      This is really very strange! Try the same thing with another SIM card on both the handsets and check if it’s the SIM card problem of any kind. And even if it behaves similarly, take it to the Sony Ericsson Service Center!

  I noticed another thing, under wireless settings–> Mobile Network Settings I can NOT click on “Auto Internet Settings” its grayed out, I dont understand why.

    That is done by Operators for some specific networks reasons. If you want to send the Internet settings to your phone, you can use the method described in this post!

  Thanks Manish, it’s a little odd that having and unbranded Xperia X10a, I still havent got the updates, when unbranded phones were supposed to get them first. (and no I did not unbranded the phone thats how I got it)

  I tried to followed step by step on how to debrand X10, but either using SEUS or SEPC I get the same problem, all the way to 7 is simple, but when I get to 8 well it just redownload the files that I currently have instead of using the ones I replaced. I turned off my internet and I get an error that I must be online, I even replaced the files as soon as its done downloading the files but I get an error

    Sony Ericsson has updated their PC suite and the SEUS trick of Replacing files can’t be used anymore! I’ll try to find some other workarounds for it and let you know! Stay tuned!

  Generic LAM (b)

  Brand:
  Customized

  and I’m still stuck on:

  Baseband Version 1.0.16
  Build number R1FA016

  Do you k now what that “Generic LAM (b)” stands for?

  I figured it out

  1) Go to settings -> Applications -> make sure Unknown Sources are checked

  2) Download wooboo file manager on android market
  3) go to: /system/app and look for playnowarena.apk
  4) select it and install it, voila now you have PlayNow

  Now if you don’t have Playnowarena.apk in your phone then:

  1) download “0I File Manager”
  2) mount your SDcard to your computer
  3) download this file http://www.megaupload.com/?d=U0DMWTXT and copy it anywhere on your SD card
  4) unmount your phone
  5) open 0I file manager
  6) look for playnowarena.apk
  7) press on it and install it
  now you have PlayNow
