Root Xperia X10,Mini & Pro with Android 2.1 using z4root Single Click Method-Download
Root for Xperia X10 came after a lot of effort by XDA Users and they did really a great job with the first step towards the Rooting of Xperia X10. After a lot of Fake calls of rooting Xperia X10 when they finally succeeded in rooting Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, it was a difficult process for many users who were new to Android and Linux shell.
Although, they tried their best to keep the process simple enough, rooting Xperia X10 still took over 10mins to 30mins for Normal Users.
There were a lot of complication with first Rooting Method that Xperia X10 ever saw! There were problems like 64-bit Java Issue and Frequent restarts, No 3G-APN issue, Phonebook Doesn’t work/Force Close, Headphones not working, etc.
And that was not all, people were having a lot of problem with the rooted phone as everything was automated and the Default Sony Ericsson Apps were already wiped off! So, users who wished to keep the Timescape, Mediascape and other default Xperia X10 apps had to go through a complex process of running the Shell commands to install the Timescape and Mediascape apks.
Everything was a bit complex and the whole rooting process needed some refinement! XDA Users tried their best to cut the steps to around 2-3 steps for Rooting your Xperia X10.
Now you don’t need to worry about rooting your Xperia X10. You won’t face any issues either! Rooting your Xperia X10 got as easier as “a Single Touch“! Yes, you heard it right, Xperia X10 can be rooted with one Single Touch/Click!

Guys from 23corner.com have used the latest Exploit found in the Android system! The Exploit was found by

And the exploit is beautifully packed in an Android app package named Universal Androot. This can be used to Root many Android Phones including Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, Mini and Mini Pro! ![]()
This is as simple as install the app, Tap the Root! Button in the app and your phone is rooted. Kudos to the dev team who found this exploit! ![]()
The list of Supported phones that can be successfully rooted using this Universal Androot app are :

- Acer Liquid (2.1)
- Acer beTouch E400 (2.1)
- Vibo A688 (1.6)
- Lenovo Lephone (1.6)

So, there shouldn’t be any Rooting Instructions this time! But a few people were still having trouble as their Busybox is not Recognised by many apps that require Root Permissions! ![]()
So, i would like to clarify that in the instructions part!

No warranty won’t is not void coz of rooting-you can unroot it anytime. If you ever need to take it to a Sony Ericsson Service Center just unroot it using the same.
And yes unrooting will have the New 3D Gallery as it is!
I was wondering if you have a guide for AT&T branded ones, because I am unable to install the downloaded app from online, it has to be from the market.
same goes for me i cannot install it because it is block
You can use the other One click Rooting app for Xperia X10 family. Search the blog for z4root.
thank u manish….thanx a lot…nw m relaxed.
Hey can u tell me one thing… unrooting simply means unrooting, i mean if rooted from different app and unrooted from different app does’nt make a difference in terms of rooting/unrooting…??
And lemme tell u ur comment form is not working properly it shows error after submitting.
Thank You for your Feedback. I’ll try to fix the errors.
And yes, un-rooting from any app will un-root it.

Hi Manish, Have a quick question. I just loaded some apk files to my sd card. but when i try to install them with astro or appinstaller, i get install blocked .. for security , your phone is set to block installation of appplications not sourced in android market? how do i take that block off.
I was trying to install Universal Androot to uninstall AT&T apps and also to install non-market apps. I needed to be root but my phone allow me to install that apk file. Is there any workaround? My phone is Xperia x10 from At&t, Android 1.6.
Please help.
AT&T have blocked app instillation that are not from market. You need to root your phone and then upgrade to Android 2.1 using the step by step method on the blog itself. It will automatically remove all the restrictions. But then, you won’t be having any apps from AT&T.
Hi I have a question i have a xperia x10 mini pro and does the camera really not work after i do this ? and can i move apps to sd card after rooting my phone?
Hi I was wondering if you were to root a phone, say the ‘X10 mini PRO’ while it had android 1.6 installed, would having your phone rooted prevent your phone from being able to update to 2.1? or would updating your version of android on a rooted phone unroot it? or would everything be fine? my X10 mini PRO with android 1.6 could be rooted and then updated to 2.1 with no problems???
You need not root it to update it to Android 2.1,Eclair. If the Android 2.1,Eclair update for Xperia X10 Mini Pro is not yet available in your region or on your network then follow the step by step guide given above to get the update on your phone.
If your Xperia X10 Mini Pro is rooted and you update it using PC Companion / SEUS then it would remove those root permissions and you’ll have to root it again. Search the blog on how to root Xperia X10 Family with Android 2.1,Eclair using one click method.
hi
i have downloaded the app installed it and clicked unroot but it keeps going through the process and failing what should i do?
