Android 2.1, Eclair Firmware for Xperia X10 Released to Journalists-Reviewed & Tested
So it’s just 3days before we would step into Novemeber and Sony Ericsson has to release Eclair Update for Xperia X10 before that! ( if they keep their Promise! ). But Lately there have already been a few leaks around the Web which shows the Eclair, Android 2.1 Firmware for Xperia X10 ( almost final version! ). The one i reported a day ago which was downloaded through Emma for Xperia X10 and also posted some screenshots of the latest firmware for Xperia X10.
But this one seems to be most interesting! Sony Ericsson Officially released Eclair, Android 2.1 Firmware Update A2.0.A.0.497 to only Reputed Tech Blogs and Journalists! ( this again is not the Final Firmware, but really close to Final Firmware! ) They did this earlier with the Android 1.6, Donut firmware for Xperia X10 when Firmware Version R1FA014 was released to the Tech-blogs and Journalists to test and report back the errors or bugs they encounter! And the Famous Keyboard Bug was found and fixed in the Later Firmware R1FA016.
And this time also Sony Ericsson released officially the Xperia X10 Eclair, Android 2.1 Firmware Update A2.0.A.0.497 to only Reputed Tech Blogs and Journalists to perhaps have an external & real user testing of the Latest Firmware! And the first Review of the Latest firmware has already been published on such a blog. The blog is in Swedish but the blog managed to get a good 7Mins video of the Latest Android Update for Xperia X10 plus a lot of Screenshots!

I just wanna ask now its clear that angry bird is working in 2.1 but is there any way to zoom in or zoom out in the game?
Double Tap! It’s also there in the Angry Birds Lite version that you can presently run on your Xperia X10 with Android 1.6, Donut!
Seeing from the video , imo , mediascape is still slow and we have to press few buttons (touch) to get to now playing.. so not great improvement there .. timescape appears to be a little fast .. but i hardly use ..
anwayway if the phone is optimized and could handle apps well , thats enough for me.. what about in-call volume ?

I guess, Mediascape has seen no improvements at all except for the General speed improvement due to android upgrade and guess bigger buttons to press! It still looks laggy to me and moving between Categories window in the Mediascape is a still unacceptable!
I’m happy about the results, but why is it still that low compared to Desire (67 MFLOPS on froyo) for example? Is this only the new kernel of froyo?
Why is sony delaying so much.M at a point of selling it off and getting an Iphone now
Froyo is lot faster than Eclair! So, the Benchmark results will have a lot of difference! Check this for more details,

but i have a suggestion, if possible kindly include a link for downloading apk files to pc…. that would be great…
i don’t use my xperia x10 market for downloading because for downloading an application of size around 4 mb, balance deducted is almost Rs. 30/-. so i prefer downloading apk files from internet to pc and then transfer it to the phone….

Do you know if voice dailing has been fixed? Its usless in 1.6 making the phone rubbish for true hands free operation. Thx.
Can’t confirm for Google Voice Dialing now, but Google Voice Search is definitely there! And you can use Google Voice Search on your Xperia X10 with Android 1.6 as well. Here’s the trick!
