Angry Birds for Android on Xperia X10 with Eclair,Android 2.1 Update & Multitouch Demo

The famous and best selling app from iOS came to android a few days ago. Although, there were alpha & releases of Angry Bird for quite some time. It was a lite Edition and full version of the game was recently launched in Android Market. But the problem was for Xperia X10 Owners that it was avialable only for devices supporting OpenGL ES 2.0! So it was not possible to try it on your Xperia X10 unless you get the Android 2.1, Eclair Firmware Update! 😐

I’m currently running Angry Birds Lite on my Xperia X10 with Android 1.6 but it does not have all the levels plus it does not support Multi-touch for zooming in and zoming out as in iPhone app! This makes the gameplay a bit troublesome! And it doesn’t feel that smooth either!

As I’ve posted about a video yesterday with Multitouch Test on Xperia X10 Android 2.1, Eclair Update, it somehow proves that Xperia X10 has Multi-touch Capabiliites! To add to the previous proofs of Multi-touch on Xperia X10, here is another Video that Proves Multi-touch on Xperia X10! Why did Sony Ericsson Lie to us?

Angry Birds features challenging physics-based gameplay and hours of replay value. Each of the 150 levels requires logic, skill, and force to solve. It’s Free now! ( Paid in iOS App Store! ) This is a fun game and is a Must Must Have App! Download it as soon as you get Android 2.1 on your Xperia X10. And other users go download now! 🙂

Why is Angry Birds free on Android? We want to make Angry Birds available for as many people as possible. Previously, many people were experiencing problems in finding Angry Birds on Android Market, but now everybody can download the game on their device.

Angry Birds will run on second generation Android devices and upwards, with Android platform 1.6 or later. Your device needs to support OpenGL ES 2.0. QVGA display resolution is not supported currently, but we will add support for QVGA devices soon.

Angry Birds Android features mobile advertising. A future update will include the option to purchase and opt out of advertisements.

  1. Hi Manish. Great article. I just wanted to ask. Is that you doing the multitouch on angry birds in the video? Do you have the pre released 2.1 Eclair on your X10. The reason I am asking is because a lot of people don’t believe that the x10 supports MT on the X10 with 2.1 because of untrusted sources. So if that is you in the video then I can’t wait 🙂

      1. In fact. I phoned Xperia UK today in regards to this. When I informed them about several videos appearing on line showing MT capabilities on the X10, they didn’t know what to say. They said its impossible. Then she said I don’t know what to say, they never tell us anything. Then she went on to say how she felt embarrassed that she couldn’t answer my questions as they were only trained to give out very minimal basic knowledge. At least she acknowledged they suck as a call centre team! And I agree, these videos look far from fake.

  2. Fantastic site. A lot of helpful information here.
I’m sending it to some pals ans also sharing in delicious.
And obviously, thank you for your sweat!

  3. I am really enjoying the theme/design of your weblog.
