How to Root Xperia X10 with Android 2.1,Eclair using SuperOneClick Method-Tutorial

I guess most of us have already got the Android 2.1, Eclair Firmware on our Xperia X10 now! If you haven’t got it yet, follow this Simple Easy Step by Step Guide to get Android 2.1, Ecair on your Xperia X10i or X10a. And the Eclair update is amazing now! It’s really zippy and smooth now! Will post a complete review later but for now, we should root it. Yes root has been achieved on Xperia X10 with android 2.1, Eclair. It’s was as simple as one click.
Makes me wonder why Sony Ericsson didn’t fix the already found loophole to root the Xperia X10? Anyways we have a root method and we can root it now. How to Root Xperia X10 with Android 2.1,Eclair using SuperOneClick Method

You’ll need :

– Xperia X10 with Android 2.1, Eclair Firmware 2.0.A.0.504
– SuperOneClick by CLShortFuse : Download SuperOneClickv1.5.3-ShortFuse.zipย (NA)

[Update]

Downloads avaiable @ย Original author’s ( Shortfuse ) website
– Turn on Unknown Sources in Settings -> Applications
– Turn on USB Debugging in Settings -> Applications -> Development

Steps to Root X10 with Android 2.1, Eclair :

– Extract the Downloaded SuperOneClickv1.5.3-ShortFuse.zip at your desktop.
– Open the folder and run SuperOneClick.exe
– Connect your Xperia X10 with your Computer suing USB Cable. ( Connect Normally, not flash mode or anything and ignore the Notification on your Xperia X10’s Homescreen! )
– Click on Root and wait for it to root your Xperia X10.
– Enjoy! Your Xperia X10 with Android 2.1, Eclair Firmware is rooted! ๐Ÿ˜€

Note : If you face a problem of SuperOneClick going into a loop of doing the same thing, ” waiting for device ” and ” running rageagainstthecage “( which shouldn’t happen with this latest version of SuperOneClick as stated by the developer of this app ), then go to Settings -> Applications -> Development and turn off & on USB Debugging while keeping your phone connected to the Computer and SuperOneClick running as well. This should solve your problem and root your X10 with Android 2.1, Eclair. ๐Ÿ™‚

    I got my SONY ERICSSON XPERIA X10i just recently.

    I have the following queries would be grateful if you can help me.

    1) I can access my sim card properly however the phone reads as ” Simcard Unavailable” dunno why?????? I can call,sms, receive calls & sms. Does this mean phone is unlocked? Is there a way I can do it FREE???????

    2) I dunno how to use the application SERVE ME I want to change it to English.

    3) I want arabic font and

    4)Arabic dictionary which should accessible without internet.

    5) how do i get these app on my SE X10 available on http://shiamobile.com/downloads.asp

    1. – Simcard un-avialable is a bug. Ignore it.
      – You can contact the dev’s of the app for it.
      – search the blog for a step by step guide on it.
      – Search Android Market and you’ll find several dictionary. I’ll recommend Colordict.

    ***IF IT KEEPS LOOPING, TRY DISABLING USB DEBUGGING NOW***
    is the only pharse and process start again, after 3 or 4 times phone is rebooted

  3. i have updated my x10 using sony ericson update service from 1.6 to 2.1…
    well now i want to root my phone to the same 2.1 update…
    also i got the multi touch update….
    well rooting my phone with this method will void my multitouch update???
    also wat r d benefits of rooting phone???

  4. download, extract, run, plug. Got into a loop, when i switched the Debug USB option the program just stopped responding. Nothing. Re-enable the USB debug, and it goes back to loop. Needless to say I got nowhere near rooting. Any suggestions?
    PS- tried Z4 and uni’ androot already…

  5. The superoneclick software goes to “not responding” mode once I press the root button… Im using
    x10i
    2.1-update 1
    baseband version: 2.1.54
    kernel version: 2.6.29
    build number: 2.1.A.0.435

    Please tell me how to make it running? I want to root my phone so as to enable proxy settings for wifi connections…

  6. got stuck on waiting for device, enabled debugging started push of rageagainsttecage then looped, unchecked debugging sticks at waiting for device again.
    it also tried to say my sd card was damaged but a reboot solved that.
    am I missing something?
    have experia x10 with 2.1 android

  7. when i click root everything goes fine until it gets to running rageagainstthecage then it keeps looping and i disable the debugging then enable it again and it still loops. can anyone help me pleeease ๐Ÿ™
